Like every other Indian woman she did what she was told to build a family on trust and love and she went on to become an extraordinary seed of inspiration to the creation of the SOMAYAJI Group. She as described by her family and very close friends is ” a well spring of generosity and love”. She may not be qualified in the worldly sense of Certificate courses, though married to a notable Writer and a Professor but is educated to be the rock solid foundation of the group.

KRISHNA SOMAYAJI – Managing Director

Before founding SOMAYAJI Group, Krishna held leadership roles in HCL, HMA STARware, Zenith Infotech, Datapro Information Technology etc., and has been responsible for building very high value turnover for these Organizations and has numerous successes working with clients to close complex multi-million dollar solutions from SAARC Nations and Africa.

With over 20 years of Global IT Leadership experience, Krishna brings an exemplary track record of success working with best of clients globally. He most recently worked for HCL, as the National Manager – Payment Solutions for their BFSI Business unit with responsibility of Business Development and Strategy, Alliances and New initiatives in the Payments space focussing on Banking Vertical.

His longest stint was with HMA STARware, a pioneer in EFT Switching, ATMs and ATM Outsourcing Business in India, where he was the Sr. Vice President and successfully built an SBU and scaled it from scratch to a significant percentage of revenue growth with a strong client base. He worked as a de-facto CEO of the company managing multiple portfolios including defining the Organizational strategy and Steering the in-house development of an ‘Enterprise wide EFT switching software and a front end monitoring application right from scratch in compliance with global standards.

He effectively formed alliances with tier 1 companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HCL, Polaris etc., and many partners in Africa, USA & Australia for domestic as well as overseas business.

Krishna holds an MBA from CIMDR, Advanced Program in Strategic Management from IIM, Calcutta and PG Program in Computer Programming and System Analysis from Walchand College of Engineering with University II rank.

RAMAMOORTHY MANI – Advisor to Board

Ramamoorthy Mani, a former senior executive from RBI is a specialist in Payment and Settlement systems. He has an MBA degree, Masters in Commerce, CAIIB and is a practicing CISA and ITIL professional. Mani went on to integrate his Payment and Settlement Systems skill with that of Technology during his stint in IDRBT (RBI) as Head of NEFT and NFS.

His portfolio captures his many roles that of a Sr. Advisor-Payment Systems and a Solution Architect with NewGen RTGS at TCS, Consultant for Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan on implementation of Payment Systems under the RBI and also a Consultant to a few Public Sector Banks on Tech Audit.

He also had been a member with the Working group of the RBI for SFMS Message Standardization, Technology Committee for NPCI and Steering committee for RBI on NEFT.

Mani’s strength in the field of Banking and Finance coupled with his high profile responsibility with the Reserve Bank of India is a true fit to the profile of the SOMAYAJI Group.

In his spare time, Mani, also manages to serve as Trustee – Puducherry Cancer Trust Hospital and Bangalore Cancer Trust Hospital. Being a film buff, he is also the General Secretary at the Federation of Film Societies of India since 2010.

O ABDUL RAZAK – Advisor to Board

OA Razak, a TechnoBanker based at Doha, Qatar with about 30 years of experience in Banking Technology Solutions specialising in Cards & Electronic Payments and Core Banking. He is known for his expertise and vision in these domains across Middle East and Africa region. He has been an integral part of the Cards and Electronic Payment industry right from its nascent stages.

He is credited with the implementation of high-end complex solutions with in short timeframes for many banks and financial institutions by forming strategic alliances with topnotch global IT brands / Solutions / Companies like Temenos (T24), IBM 4000, Equation, Phoenix, ICBS, Infosys, Silver Lake, CTL (Prime), Online, Vision Plus, Base 24 (ACI), Interlink, Euronet , AFS, etc.

He is also the Co-founder for MyCard Consultancy since 2012 and has been helping various leading Banks on Card Technology and Core Banking Projects in India as well.

Before founding My Card consultancy, RAZAK served as Head of Operations and Card Centre for Libyan Qatari Bank, Tripoli where he was instrumental in setting up the Banking Operations from the scratch and also developed the bank’s Operational policies and procedures.

Prior to his role at Libyan Qatari Bank, he served as an Executive Manager, at Masraf al Rayyan Bank, Doha, Qatar wherein he spearheaded the overall operations and successfully launched the First Islamic Credit Card in Qatar.

Additionally, Razak has held Senior positions at Abudhabi Islamic Bank, Commercial Bank International, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank, Commercial Bank of Kuwait, Saudi Cairo Bank and National Bank of Abudhabi, where he provided highly strategic and tactical leadership with ultimate authority for complete Card Centre operations, Management Strategy, Development and Implementation for the Bank.

Razak holds an MBA in Banking, Diploma in Islamic Banking, Afzal Ul Ulama in Arabic, a Certificate in Bank Card Management conducted by VISA International & Charted Institute of Bankers, United Kingdom and a Diploma in Computer Hardware Maintenance. He is also a Certified NetWare Engineer.

He is presently pursuing CIFP program (Chartered Islamic Finance Professional) from Malaysia.

Apart from all the above, he pursued various courses related to Banking and Technology and attended various Seminars conducted by VISA, MasterCard, Technology giants and Central banks worldwide.

He is an asset for SOMAYAJI Group and with his vast experience he provides Strategic direction and Technology vision needed for high growth global business focused on value creation.

SAMUEL ABRAHAM – Advisor to Board

SA, as everyone close to him fondly call, comes with over 30 years of experience in Managing and Building Technology companies at CXO level focusing on IT & ITES, Office and Industrial Automation domains. Initial 10 years of his career were spent in Vocational Education and Technical Teacher Training with interest in Curriculum Development, Educational Media and Educational Testing.
He has literally risen from the ranks to hold several crucial leadership positions in companies such as Modi Xerox, Cosmo Communications Ltd, Kores India Ltd., Atco Industries Ltd, Datapro Information Technology Ltd and Zenith Computers Ltd.

Through his experience in various roles, he created multiple SBUs with in the organizations to focus on new domains and markets and displayed the ability to mature new ideas and brought numerous successes to all the organizations he served.

Presently he runs a Consulting Firm based out of Pune which provides strategic consulting on various functions to Companies in India.
He holds a B. Tech. Ed from University of Mysore, an MBA from California Coast University, USA, PG Dip in Advertising and Public Relations from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai. He also got trained in Educational Video and Films Production from British Council Media Centre, London and Ohio State University, Columbus as Unesco Fellow.

As an Advisor to Board, SA plays key role in evolving strategies and enabling functional structures to make SOMAYAJI Group more agile and efficient in all its activities globally.

AJAY MISHRA – Advisor to Board

Ajay Mishra is a Senior Payment Systems Professional with over 20 years of Global experience in Operations and Control, Business development, Information technology, Strategic Planning and Project Management etc. He has strong domain experience in Card management, eBanking and Payment Systems involving Mobile, POS and ATM technologies. He also championed in KYC implementation, RBI rules and regulations in Cards, Knowledge Management and VISA / Master Card Chargeback rules.

He held leadership positions such as Head – Card Operations, Head – IT, Head – Merchant Management, Head- eBanking, Head – International Operations etc., and managed various functions of Debit and Credit cards like Issuance, Acquiring, Authorization, Dispute management, Fraud control and Risk management etc. at Bobcards Ltd, The Bank of Rajasthan Ltd, The Equitorial Trust Bank(Nigeria) Ltd etc.

While working for Globacom (Nigeria) Ltd as Implementation Head-Mobile Money, he had got the opportunity to work on some of the most successful Mobile Money Solutions of the world including M-Pesa of Safaricom (Kenya) and Trivnet from Gemalto. He had also extensively studied other mobile money solutions such as Fundamo, Kabira, Macalla etc., while integrating these applications with Globacom telecom Platform.

He holds an Honours degree in B.Sc. (Physics) from Ranchi University, an Executive MBA from NIBM, Chennai and a Diploma in Computer Science and Application from Nagpur University.

He also got trained in ITIL from APMG International, UK and is a practising Payment Systems / ITIL professional and runs his own consultancy based out of Mumbai presently.
He had a distinction of attending various seminars conducted by some of the leading institutions like Visa, MasterCard, ACI, SUN MicroSystems, IBM, MicroSoft, Intel, RBI, CBN(Nigeria) etc. in Lagos, Abuja, Singapore and Mumbai.

With this background and expertise he helps SOMAYAJI TechnoLabs not only in bringing the latest and best Payment Technologies to the table but also helps in Product Management and Project Implementation to ensure consistent and efficient deliveries through operational excellence.
